DO NOT HIRE THEM!
I would leave negative stars if it would let me! They are horrible, never picked up the phone and so hard to get a hold of someone with our case. A different lawyer showed up every court date with every court date being rescheduled and them not doing anything only charging every court appearance. Every different lawyer didn't know our case and we had to explain every single time our case. They lacked knowledge and advised us to not dismiss the case only for the judge to dismiss the case bc they didn't know there stuff. Thousands and thousands of dollars for them to drag out longer. they are the absolute worst! they purposely drag out the case for you to pay more and being charged for every document they submit. I was advised one thing only for the judge to say that was not the law.

I had a great experience working with Dennis P. Block & Associates on an eviction case. From start to finish, their team was knowledgeable, responsive, and guided me through every step of the process. They kept me informed, answered my questions promptly, and handled the matter professionally.
Based on my experience, I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews. Eviction cases can be stressful and complicated, but the firm was clear about the process, timelines, and what to expect. They helped me achieve the outcome I was looking for and made a difficult situation much easier to navigate.
I would highly recommend Dennis P. Block & Associates to any landlord needing assistance with an eviction or landlord-tenant matter. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work and professionalism.

I just got off the phone with Sally at your office and genuinely hope her day improves. My intention in reaching out was to retain your firm again for a new matter, since our last case together in 2019. However, what should have been a straightforward conversation about current fees turned into an unnecessarily difficult exchange. I was attempting to understand what is included in the quoted $2,900 fee, but was not given the opportunity to ask detailed questions. Instead, I experienced repeated interruptions and a focus on emphasizing how much time had passed since our last engagement and times have changed. The explanation provided—that the fee covers the “whole shabang”,did not offer the clarity needed to make an informed decision. As someone who works in law firm operations, I value client experience with my team and understand how critical these initial interactions are for establishing trust and securing business - RETURN BUSINESS, a free lead! Based on this interaction, it raised concerns about what communication and service might look like after a retainer is paid. That voice grated my ears and so stern on a first call at intake level. I would encourage Mr. Block or the appropriate team member to review the recorded call from approximately 11:45 AM today. Thank you for your time, and I wish your team Good Luck with that staff!

This has been an absolutely appalling experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering Dennis P. Block & Associates to be extremely cautious. My experience was defined by what I consider predatory billing and a complete lack of professional integrity:
• Egregious Overbilling: Within less than 24 hours of receiving my case file, and before discovery had even begun or any responses were received from the tenant, the firm billed me for 16.95 hours of "pre-trial preparation," totaling over $8,000. It is professionally impossible to perform meaningful trial preparation in a vacuum before evidence has been gathered.
• Professional Misrepresentation: After two court appearances, the firm pressured me to dismiss my case, citing a "newly discovered issue" .However, upon reviewing my records after terminating them, I discovered this was a blatant lie. The information was contained in the tenant's original Answer from November 2025, which the firm had in their possession from day one.
• Contradictory Logic: If the case truly had a "fatal defect" that required dismissal, why did the firm charge me for extensive trial preparation immediately upon taking the case? They either failed to review the file properly or intentionally billed for unnecessary work on a case they knew they would advise me to drop.
The firm’s priority seems to be generating massive invoices within the first 48 hours rather than providing competent legal counsel. I am currently disputing these fees and reporting this conduct. Stay away.
