Extremely unhelpful staff. Anthony wouldn’t even provide support to help with the issue. Be sure to go with another company: Ting and ATT both have faster internet and better customer service.
And if the store isn't able to handle certain requests, they need to be better trained for certain objections or situations.

It's rare to find great customer service these days so when you do, it needs to be celebrated. Mahan at the Spectrum store in Carlsbad deserves a parade for how awesome he is!! After speaking to a representative on the phone (also great service) we came here to switch our cellular service to Spectrum and see if we could streamline some of our services. Mahan was SUPER knowledgeable, extremely patient and helpful and very friendly and kind. Sad for us that his main store is in Rancho Penasquitos but lucky for us that he happened to be working in Carlsbad today. I've never felt kindly towards Spectrum as a company until today.

Just trying to return equipment requires making appointment and checking in, then still waiting an hour. Absurd that they can’t create a scanning and drop off station.
Update - response to Spectrum- there were 4 other people in the store trying to return equipment, and 3 others that walked in and immediately left when they saw the queue. If another option for returning is possible- it clearly isn’t being conveyed to your customers. I spent 30 minutes on the phone just trying to turn off my service- having to decline additional services at least 7 times. And not once did the spectrum rep say anything other than ‘return your equipment to a spectrum store.’

They use the Verizon system but at a better deal than when I had Verizon directly. This store found several discounts I was eligible for and the result was indeed less expensive. I use them for internet service too. The manager found a way to also increase my internet speed at no additional cost!
Quite happy with it all.

Okay, I think we can all agree that Spectrum services leave a lot to be desired for a lot of folks. But this review is for this specific store and not the evil deeds of corporate Spectrum. With that in mind, I came here to disconnect my home internet service and return my equipment, and found the experience downright pleasant. When you enter, you check in at a tablet, your name appears on a waitlist at the back of the store, and you just wait to be called up. You can also make reservations online, good thing that was only one other walk-in customer waiting when I arrived. There's a fairly comfortable lounge area with charging cords. While waiting I took note that there were four employees working at the time assisting other customers, and everyone was pleasant and friendly. I waited for about 5 to 7 minutes before being called up. The rep asked me how she could help me, I told her that I wanted to disconnect, she asked me for my ID, and processed the requests with no pushback or unpleasantness. She finished with me in less than 4 minutes, and was out the door. If only the rest of Spectrum was run like the store, they will probably keep a lot more customers, including me.
