We hired this designer with the expectation of receiving professional guidance and expertise, especially considering the significant investment of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. She ordered incorrect furniture sizes that do not fit the scale of our space, despite having accurate measurements. Additionally, we specifically requested performance fabric due to having kids and pets. Instead, she selected a grade S fabric that is dry clean only and stains incredibly easily. This is completely impractical for a busy household, and now we’re forced to keep our new furniture covered in blankets to avoid further damage. We trusted her professional judgment and feel completely let down by the lack of attention to detail and disregard for our needs. We moved into our house a few years ago knowing that we would want to change almost everything about how it looked on the inside. After finding HIDE Studios on Instagram and falling in love with their work, my husband and I agreed that they would be great to help us out. We had already remodeled most of the downstairs so we worked with HIDE to help us choose finishings such as light fixtures, rugs, and console tables to complete the look we wanted to achieve but couldn't figure out on our own. One of my favorite things about working with Dominique and Hanin was their willingness to listen to my main concerns- I have kids and pets and wanted to make sure that our investment would last. Dominique was very thoughtful about choosing rugs that would stand up to our household and are easy to clean, thank goodness. She pulled our house together so that we have the relaxed beachy feel we were going for but in a much more elevated way than we could have figured out on our own. She also chose the colors and materials for our laundry room which looks amazing now and I actually want to spend all of my time in that room, hah! All in all we had an excellent experience working with HIDE and look forward to someday redoing our primary and kids' bathrooms with their design guidance!

Working with Hanin Smith was a very positive experience. The results of my renovation greatly exceeded my expectations! I hired Hanin Smith to design a complete renovation of my downtown San Diego condo. She was there from the beginning, designing the kitchens and bathrooms to the end picking out furniture, rugs, plants, and artwork. The problems I was facing were my complete absence of design skills, difficulty in relinquishing control, and trying to complete a major renovation on-budget. She helped by providing these solutions by trying to understand how I make decisions and what my "style" actually is. She gently steered me away from several bad decisions that I almost made. The process of working together was pleasant, collaborative, and ended with outstanding results!
