John took on a big project for us: a top to bottom rebranding and a new website to go with it. The site was going to need a lot of new functionality that we previously did not have, so he had to start from scratch and build a whole new platform for us. It had to be flexible, easy to update, handle a lot of information that needed to be easy to find, and also look great. The brand was also stale and outdated. It needed to connect with our long time supporters and guests, but also help to reach a new audience. We wanted it to represent our sport, our city, and be instantly relatable and convey our style. On both accounts he absolutely knocked it out of the park. The logo is amazing, people love it and tell us as much all the time. It looks great on shirts, on our site, on our stationary. It connects to all the design ideas we wanted. The increased merchandise sales we saw this year can be credited to John's logo. The website is a dream and we also get tons of great feedback on it. It does a lot, shows live race results, packs a ton of information for teams and coaches, tells spectators how to enjoy our regatta, and is also a ticket sales driver. We can update it and change is easily in-house, but John still does little tweaks for us and monitors the site health so we know we're up and running at full functionality. You can't have the site go down before and during the races, so John made sure we could handle the increased traffic, but didn't pay for more bandwidth than we needed the rest of the year. He was a pleasure to work with. Responsive, receptive, and open to our ideas. He also does something a really good designer should do: he listened to our needs and our ideas, and then translated that into better design ideas. If he had given us exactly what we had asked for we would have would up with a cheesy and overly complicated logo. He fused our ideas into his design where he could while always keeping good design in mind. The client is not always right, and he gently steered us into a way better direction. When we saw the final results we were blown away. The work speaks for itself. But he's also a great guy and a pleasure to work with. Just look at our old logo and our new logo!

Our new website is awesome! John spent significant time with us discussing our needs and advising us on different options. As a non profit, our main concerns were price and messaging. John listened and came up with a tailor-made plan to keep costs down and streamline the communication of our mission and vision. The diversity of John's portfolio stands as testament to his talent. Working with people to truly represent their passion is John's own personal MO, but to tease out the essence of what is important to a client takes a rare combination of insight, strategy and patience.
