Chuck was rude!! Also put the wrong Bank account number on my tax returns! Never got my refund from IRS or State of Calif. I would never use him again!! I would give him stars if possible!

I've gotten my taxes done through this office a few times. This year they ghosted me. I started a business and taxes were essential to figure out in advance. I reached out last year multiple times to get ahead of it. Ghosted until a few weeks ago, in which one of Chuck's employees (Alice) reached out, I followed up immediately, and then back to the silent treatment. Fossils in business need to know when to hang up the ropes. Purely unacceptable in 2026.

On October 20th 2025, I met with Chuck at his office to get my 2024 taxes done. I was immediately put off by the religious iconography but my taxes were late and I just wanted them done properly by a professional. I got the impression that Chuck was very experienced, and when he asked if there was a good reason for my taxes being late, I said "No." I made a point to respect his time and not make excuses, and I never time-pressured him even though each passing day meant more fees for me. The next day, he sent a Docusign then voided it and called me. We came up with final numbers, talked about a payment plan, then ended the call. Chuck then emailed me, "The fac that you are under 59 1/2 and there is not early withdrawal exception you have to pay both the income taxes and penalty on Roth account." This was really weird to me, because in addition to the first chat we had JUST talked about it as part of the numbers he gave me, his email seemed to imply this was a new realization to him. I replied after checking the new Docusign, "Chuck, is that why the federal is higher than we talked about on the phone? The state didn't change much but am I getting it right that it's +$8k in taxes for federal than we talked about?" He said, "yes" (which I took as a lie) and after considering firing him and using TurboTax, I decided to proceed because he's a licensed professional and it seemed like a rational risk. Well, I got followups from the IRS and state, tried to followup with Chuck, but he was rude and unprofessional. He ended up yelling at me on the phone after calling me the wrong name, and then hung up on me when I tried to explain things. I regret working with Chuck, I would have been better off with TurboTax.

We had to find someone new to take care of our taxes since our accountant of 15yrs finally retired. They are rather complicated, so we were concerned that we wouldn't be able to find someone without an extensive search and interviewing process. We were fortunate to have interviewed Chuck early in the process, and after our first meeting knew right away we found our new guy. Chuck was extremely knowledgable, personable, and was able to get up to speed very quickly and efficiently. Another reason we decided to choose Chuck was his familiarity with tax planning and other related services, which was important for us to keep things streamlined and easy to manage.

Let me say without any reservation, Chuck Anderson, CPA is the most trustworthy and honorable person I have ever met. Over many years, my family and I have been using his firm for our tax returns and we have never had any problems with the IRS or the state tax authority. Because of his trustworthiness, we will always seek out his advice for investment vehicle where safety is important to us. His professional advice is second to none. We thank and applaud his dedication and commitment for his outstanding service and trustworthiness to the South Bay community. He deserves a 5 star rating.
