I can't say enough about South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors. I have contracted with them to carpet two separate homes, (one home was almost the entire house), and I could not be happier with the results. High quality carpet, very reasonable pricing, and excellent service. The installers are very knowledgeable, especially installer "Danny" who does the work quickly and very efficiently. And the owner, Josh, is extremely honest, dependable, and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. He came out to both homes for a walk through, and brought multiple samples to help me decide. Josh is very knowledgeable about the different types and brands of carpeting and which carpet type would go best with the home/decor. I had the hardest time selecting a color and he helped me narrow it down, and the final color selected is a color I absolutely LOVE. He was so patient. I definitely recommend South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors and if I ever need carpeting done again, I will use them without hesitation! Thanks Josh and Danny!

We had an amazing experience with this warm, friendly, family-owned business. From the very beginning, their customer service was top-notch. Joshua is absolutely incredible, his professionalism and genuine desire to make sure we were completely satisfied made all the difference.

I recently had new floors installed, and while I absolutely love the finished look, my experience with the installation process left me with mixed feelings. Josh and Jerry were great to work with on the front end—friendly, responsive, and professional. However, the installation crew worked quickly but carelessly, causing damage to my walls. The company sent someone to fix it, but the work was subpar—a quick coat of paint from someone who wasn’t a professional painter. I ended up hiring my own painter and was reimbursed for half the cost. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of the issues. Over the past year, I started noticing a small puddle near one of my toilets. The toilet was clearly removed to install the new flooring, and the second plumber I called discovered the flange wasn’t flush with the floor. To compensate, the installer had used two wax seals instead of properly addressing the problem. This lazy installation job cost me $900 to fix, and now I’m worried about the other two toilets in my home. I wanted to support a small local business rather than a big national chain, but this experience has been frustrating and expensive. While the floors themselves look great, the lack of care and expertise from the installation crew has made me question my decision. I hope the company invests in better training for their team so other customers don’t face the same issues.

We got scammed by a horrible contractor that did an atrocious job on our floors and jacked up our subfloor a few years ago. Josh and his team came in and after demo, they fixed the subfloor, got everything levelled, and did an amazing job laying down new hardwood. Great price, underneath competing bids. They stuck to their estimated timeline and did an incredible job! I couldn't be happier with their work and I would highly recommend!!!!!!

We hired South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors to install vinyl plank through out our approximately 2000 square foot space, which included stairs and replacing our stair and landing hand and guard rails. The quality of the work ranges from bad to acceptable, but the overall experience is what was truly terrible. Josh assured us that he would be with us through out the project, which was a bit of an overstatement. He was always avaliable by text or phone, but did not personally over see the work. In fact the only times he came to see how things were going was when we were ready to fire them mid-project, and about a month and a half after they had finished as we hadn't gotten a final walk through until then and had many complaints about the finished product. Josh estimated ~9 days for our project. They worked for 23 days. There are many areas we were concerned that had not been adequately prepared for flooring or the flooring was poorly installed. Josh came out to assess, and agreed to return with a representative from the flooring company to give his input. Niether of them could explain why measurements that clearly were not up to the flooring company's printed specification sheet were ok, they just assured us that they were. At the end of the walk through they told me they would submit my concerns to the flooring company, but not to expect a response. The real nightmare of the project was the handrail. They were completely ignorant of the building codes and relied on us to research them and design the layout of the handrail. It was very time consuming and stressful. The workmanship on the handrail is not good. The pictures speak for themselves. At our much-delayed final walk through, the installer admitted that the painting on the posts of the handrail was poor, and said he would come back to fix it. He canceled on us the first date we set up, and completely ghosted us on the second. There are many more issues that I could catalog here, but I think I've made my point. I was excited to work with South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors based on their 5 star yelp reviews, but was sadly disappointed. It was absolutely represented to us by Josh that South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors does handrails and had done "many" in the past. The stair railing was itemized and included in our contract with them, and all checks were made payable to South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors. The same installer, Wagner, did the floors and handrailling and was sent by South Bay Carpets and Hardwood Floors. The fact that they are not standing behind their work and are instead trying to distance themselves and throw their installer (who supposedly has "been with the family 10+ years") under the bus...wow, that is shocking and disappointing. That is all I will say about that.
