I had such a great experience working with my general contractor, Keith, and his amazing crew—Kerf, Abraham, and Chris. They recently completed a big renovation project on my house, which included building a beautiful new deck, replacing some of the siding, and painting the entire exterior. Their work is impeccable—every detail was carefully thought through, and they didn’t leave a single stone unturned. The crew was respectful, hardworking, and kept the work site tidy. I really appreciated how communicative and reliable they were throughout the entire process. My house looks better than I imagined, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. This is a great company and highly recommended. Robert Barnes was our construction manager and handled the addition of our back-house (Studio Shed) with utmost professionalism and care. They are great builders and run a tight operation. Would definitely use Berkley Construction again on any future projects.

We worked with Berkley Construction on an ADU and the experience was great. This was a slightly odd project in that we had selected a manufacturer for the structure, who shipped it to San Diego for assembly. This process seemed easy and convenient at first but it ended up being a constant struggle as the manufacturer wasn't really prepared to service construction in San Diego (they are located in Colorado). We ended up having to rely heavily on our Berkley project manager, Robert Barnes, to sort out a lot of the things that manufacturer didn't do, or did wrong. Robert also spent a lot of time coordinating with the solar installer which was incredibly helpful and not really part of his job. In terms of the work, Robert and his team was diligent and respectful, showing up when they said they would, cleaning up after themselves, etc. We have worked with other contractors in the past where an appointment was more aspirational than actual. We did not have that problem with Berkley. I should also say that they did things right--no cutting corners or calling it good enough. In terms of cost, I think the price was fair. They were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive company we talked to but were definitely reasonable, and more affordable than companies that, for example, pay for a lot of advertising. They also use software that is very helpful in tracking the working being done, change orders, invoices paid, etc. This was very useful for a project that spooled out over several months. Bottomline, we definitely recommend Berkley Construction and would use them again if we have the need.

I recommend Berkley Construction wholeheartedly ! They worked for me between late 2019 and 2020 I hired them to do a complete remodel of the house my father built in 1955 on B st. It needed a serious upgrade after 65 years. I include a before and after photo of the whole house plus the kitchen. I was very pleased with their work. They were very professional, patient with my questions and incorporated my ideas when possible. The people they brought to the job were all highly competent. Berkley Construction built our 325 sq ft ADU on time and on budget. Our project manager was communicative and did a good job keeping to the timeline. Kieth and Robert are nice guys and they used quality subcontractors. We especially appreciated Berkley’s willingness to be flexible with the project scope, which allowed us to self-perform parts of the work in order to keep cost down. I have recommended Berkley to friends.
