I found David (Brighten Flooring) through a customer of mine who had used him and highly recommended David. So when I met him, I immediately liked him. He was very personable and real. Being a single woman, it was important to me that I have a good gut feeling about someone. David came across as an honest and sincere person. So it began. He helped me pick out my flooring to my taste, accommodated my schedule, and had his crew here on time every day until they were finished. I had new flooring put in throughout my entire house. They all did a great job and were very pleasant. I am extremely happy with the results. Christian also came back by after the job was finished to put brackets in the wall to secure my China cabinet. They even put pads on the bottom of all my furniture. I would definitely recommend David Escobar and his team! Quality with A1 Service.😍

I am happy that we chose Brighten Flooring for our carpet installation. David was very knowledgeable about the various products and was patient in explaining all of the pros and cons to various materials, patterns, and colors. I felt comfortable that we were in the right hands. We ordered the carpet and were delighted that the shipment arrived a little ahead of schedule. The weather wasn't cooperating on our install date so David was very helpful in figuring out a way get the carpet installed sooner than expected. The install crew was fantastic: clean, professional, fast, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend David to friends and family.

We recently decided to upgrade the flooring throughout our 3000 sq ft home. After looking at samples we chose a lovely luxury plank tile (pictured below).
Upon receipt of the flooring, we opened a box to confirm that we had received the right product, which we had.
As installation began, however, we were shocked to discover what can only be described as “scuff marks” on roughly 20% of the planks. (See pictures below.) We were understandably upset as these marks were definitely NOT present in the sample we looked at while choosing the floor, and, to us (& everyone we showed), clearly appeared to represent some sort of defect in the manufacturing of the planks.
Naturally we took our concerns to Dave, the owner and salesperson (and our point of contact), at Brighten Flooring. To our surprise, Dave insisted that the scuff marks were not a defect but rather, “part of the character of the flooring,” and something that “other customers love.” We explained that the sample we chose from had no such scuff marks and we would never have chosen this flooring if it had. This is where Dave became hostile and defensive, ultimately insisting that “we signed for the flooring,” and thus had no right to complain. (Given the number of boxes of flooring that we received, it is inconceivable that we would open every box, inspecting each board before signing for the product. While the company can certainly argue that in not doing so we are to blame, that argument seems like a cop-out and all-around bad salesmanship.)
Our hope was that Dave would offer to exchange the damaged boards for new ones but he did not. Instead, he offered to “pull his crew,” so we could pick new flooring. This would have left us in a half-demolished, dusty house, for at least four weeks while we waited for the new product. Anyone who has ever been through a big remodel will understand that this would have been a major disruption to our lives. I suspect Dave knew it as well. To avoid that we ultimately chose to keep the damaged boards which are all now “hidden” in closets and behind furniture. No discount or any other solution was offered. Instead, Dave laughed at my tears and frustration. His lack of empathy speaks volumes about him as a businessperson. It’s easy to do a great job when things are going well, but it’s how you handle yourself when there’s a problem that makes you good at what you do.
It is our hope in writing this that we can spare others a similar experience.

5 STARS…TWICE
David at Brighten Flooring was highly recommended to me because I needed new carpeting in my rental condo. I called and explained to David that I was in a bit of a jam based on my timeline and wondered if he could help. His immediate answer was yes. I stopped by the showroom within the hour and reviewed carpet samples and baseboard options. David was so accommodating, helpful and definitely patient with my questions. David stopped by the condo to measure the rooms and provide an estimate onsite. While we were having a general discussion about the condo updates that were needed, I learned that David could handle the entire project. This meant bathroom updates including resurfacing the bathtubs and tile surrounds, plus a kitchen update with new cabinets, recessed lighting, quartz countertops, faucets, new stainless-steel appliance package. As with any updating, there were little things that needed attention like a new garbage disposal, replacing water hoses, new carbon monoxide/smoke alarm and anything else I’m forgetting. David kept me appraised at every step; he has excellent taste; and was very respectful of working in a condo unit community. I am impressed and so happy with all the work David completed. I’d work with him again
