Paulson A/C installed a Fujitsu mini-split system in early 2024 for $12,500 that has never worked properly. It only blew warm air. Over more than a year, multiple service visits (although they frequently no-called no-showed) were made, but technicians repeatedly recharged refrigerant instead of fixing the underlying problem, resulting in only temporary cooling.
A technician eventually confirmed a refrigerant leak at the compressor, showing the system was defective since installation. Despite this, Paulson A/C has refused to honor the installation warranty and is requiring payment for further repairs. As a result, I am now forced to hire a different HVAC company to remove and replace Paulson A/C’s faulty installation in order to have a functioning system. They are the worst contractor I've ever dealt with.

Working with Paulson was one of the worst contractor experiences I've ever had. We hired them to replace our 3-ton compressor, trusting them as the HOA's preferred vendor. Instead, without any consultation or proper testing, they installed a smaller 2.5-ton unit. Standard practice requires a heat load calculation to confirm sizing, but they skipped that step entirely.
What followed was months of frustration, with their technicians unable to figure out why the system wouldn't cool properly. The real issue only came to light when we were in escrow to sell our condo--another HVAC company ran the proper test and confirmed what should have been obvious: we needed a 3-ton, not a 2.5-ton.
When we confronted Paulson, they dodged responsibility, tried to redirect the blame, and refused to acknowledge their mistake. I asked for a refund just to move forward, but instead was met with condescension and more misleading responses. Their mishandling created unnecessary stress for my family during a critical time, and I ultimately had no choice but to take legal action.
Paulson cut corners, misled us, and left us with a unit that never worked. Save yourself the nightmare--stay far away from this company.

Overall disappointing. Had a brand new heat pump system installed and so far had to do three service calls because the system either was not cooling or heating correctly.
Currently the system is not working and waiting on a fourth service call to fix the problem. The system is less than 5 months old. (I'll update this review if or when the issues are resolved)
Timeline of events and service calls:
7/1/2024 - Heat pump installation completed by Wes
7/3/2024 - Water from the system was draining into the garage causing water to pool in the garage. Notified Paulson AC, Wes came out and fixed the issue that night at around 10:00 PM. (service call #1)
7/14/2024 - System wasn't cooling properly notified Paulson AC
7/19/2024 - Bryan the field supervisor came out and figured out there was still an issue with the water drainage triggering the emergency shut off. Bryan re-did the PVC drainage and fixed the problem. (service call #2)
11/17/2024 - Heat is not working. Notified Paulson AC
11/22/2024 - JP comes out and is unable to solve the heating issue and finds additional issues with the system. The filter was installed incorrectly and will need to install filter grill on the return air and now there's a stinky sock smell when the AC is turned on. (service call #3)
Now waiting on their front office to contact me to setup next appointment so Bryan (the field supervisor) can come out to see if he can fix the problem. (service call #4)
Only positive note so far is Yesenia is fast to text me back when I report an issue.
From reporting heating/cooling issue to someone coming out for the service call it takes 5 days.
