My husband and I retained Attorney Lawrence Mudgett for a difficult eviction. We found Mr. Mudgett to be extremely helpful in clearly laying out the best and worst scenarios for the outcomes. I appreciated that he is a good listener, addressed all our questions in a timely manner, walked us through the many steps of the eviction process and was well prepared for court. I would not recommend anyone to try and handle an eviction on your own. There are a lot of moving parts and detailed legal requirement that would be very difficult for a lay person to navigate. I highly recommend Attorney Mudgett for his expertise, reasonable fees, patience, and concern for his clients. My husband and I would not hesitate to use his services again.

I had a few questions after receiving notice the landlord was planning on selling the property and our lease would not be renewed. He provided a consultation and sound advice. Maybe not what I wanted to hear, but sufficient to clarify my course of action. I will certainly retain Mr. Mudgett if I happen to need him in the future.

Regretfully, I met Mudgett in 2012. He was paid for a job but left on an extended vacation. Upon his return, he didn’t file, asked for more money, and had not signed the contract. He became upset when I chose to hire someone else and threatened me in his office in front of my child. It is difficult to express the severity of his actions. He lies continuously about everything and commits ongoing fraud upon the court with no concerns.
In 2018, my mother, while trying to refinance her house, discovered that he had recorded a fraudulent lien against her property in 2017. Despite never having met him, she paid him to stay out of court, but he refused to remove the lien. Two months later, under duress, she filed a complaint against him. Since then, he has filed frivolous motions with fabricated evidence, issued threats, engaged in harassment, exposed sensitive data about her grandchildren, committed emotional and financial abuse against the elderly, recorded an additional lien, and filed two Notices of Levy (continuous harassment for money). The list goes on.
He has violated a 2015 mutual contractual agreement to walk away. In 2019, he filed a frivolous motion unrelated to the case and won; he was awarded over $17,000. Most recently, it was discovered that, dating back to 2012/2013, he tampered with an arbitration application to have an arbitration award vacated, upset over losing due to unethical conduct. He submitted a motion with false declarations to silence us in his quest for money from an 80-year-old woman.
Sadly, despite the substantial evidence of fraud we have provided, the court system has failed this 80-year-old immigrant woman. His evidence (rulings from the court) were won under fraudulent circumstances. We have endured over ten years of harassment, and he won’t go away. Don't trust this individual; he is vindictive.

My experience with Lawrence Mudgett was negative. In a phone call, Mr. Mudgett and I discussed my legal matter and he agreed provide counsel. As Mr. Mudgett requested, I promptly sent the relevant documents, but Mr. Mudgett never sent the engagement letter and retention forms. After about 10 days of silence, I began contacting Mr. Mudgett, but received no response. Finally, after about 2 weeks, Mr. Mudgett sent a terse email indicating he would not provide legal counsel. I protested, telling Mr. Mudgett that two weeks had passed and he did me a gross disservice by leaving me and my legal matter hanging for so long. Since a price increase to a tenant was involved, the delay had cost me real money. I asked Mr. Mudgett to reconsider, but my request was met with silence - which seems to be Mr. Mudgett's go-to response.
I found Mr. Mudgett's conduct to be inconsiderate and unprofessional - at a minimum.

Lawrence Mudgett is an incredible lawyer, he worked hard to restore our business/income (and sanity!) to us in the midst of the most difficult time in history to be a landlord and landlord attorney. He has advocated for me twice now, navigated crazy mandates, and both times brought favorable outcomes for us. We hope we will never need this kind of representation in the future, but if we do, we will certainly be soliciting Lawrence again! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you've done for us!
