I had SDBB for a number of years when I first moved to N. County San Diego and there were limited options for internet in my area. The basic service was adequate, providing around 50Mbps down on average. Their service techs were friendly, polite and professional but customer service is closed on evenings and weekends. I have since moved on to better internet options which have become available in my area. SDBB filled the void for a number of years and I appreciate them for that.

If you play any online games, do not go with this provider. Download and upload speed are rarely acceptable, and the upload latency has never been good, averaging 600-1000ms as seen in the photo. Router has been upgraded many times, doesn't seem to make any difference, and this test was done on a wired ethernet connection straight to the router. Never have I seen my speeds as advertised.

When originally signing up for service I chose to have my payments automatically withdrawn from my account. After 8 months of service I received a call saying that there was a mistake on their end and I needed to back pay $800 since their previous employee did not set up anyone’s autopay correctly. I requested that the employee talks to her manager to see if there was any type of fee reduction I could get considering they admitted this was their fault. The employee said something along the line that she was nervous to talk to her manager and that this wasn’t her fault. Extremely poor customer service.

I used San Diego Broadband for years and have experienced reliable internet and tech support in an area where other couldn’t provide it. A faster “gaming” option for my kids became available, and when SDBB came by to collect their equipment, the technician helped me get the new equipment working in a separate office building from my house. Life-saver! They could have declined; knowing the other provider doesn’t have on site service… Absolute integrity when it comes to servicing their customers. You cannot go wrong!

Amazing...if you are looking for satellite service, look no further. 5G is fast and awesome. They provided two little cubes, one at each end of the house, so full coverage everywhere with no clunky modem to mess around with. The dish is the size of a small dinner plate and is mounted on a pole in the side yard. No house attachment. (See photo for cube size). Mike and Allen are great with customer service, so I don't understand the review complaining. Probably more the owner than SD Broadband.
