I would not use NextGen HVAC again. $15,000 and pain and suffering.
I hired them through Home Depot because I assumed that meant I was getting a reputable installer. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but straightforward.
During installation, their crew somehow drilled through concrete and impacted a structural steel beam in my 12-story condominium. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for why they were drilling there instead of using the existing HVAC pathway. To their credit, they were apologetic and ultimately corrected the damage, but the installation had to be completely redone. What should have been a one-day project turned into more than a week of construction, multiple appointments, and significant disruption.
Four months later, the unit stopped working while still under warranty.
I scheduled a warranty service appointment, but no one showed up. After repeatedly calling and waiting for promised callbacks that never came, I was eventually told they could not service my HVAC because I needed a permit.
I immediately contacted my HOA and building management, who confirmed there is absolutely no permit required simply to service an existing HVAC unit. At that point, I completely lost confidence in what I was being told.
The most frustrating part has been the communication. Missed appointments, inconsistent information, and the inability to get a straightforward answer have made an already frustrating situation much worse. During a heat wave, I was left with a non-functioning AC unit and no clear path to getting warranty service.
It’s unfortunate because everyone was very kind when they were fixing the installation issues, but professionalism is more than being polite. It’s about doing quality work, communicating clearly, and standing behind your warranty.
My experience has been that the workmanship was poor, the communication was unreliable, and getting warranty support has been unnecessarily difficult. If I had to do it over again, I would choose a different HVAC company.

Thank you for fixing my HVAC System. I was so impressed with the service. Diego, my technician, was very professional. He explained everything that needed to be fixed. He showed pictures and answered all the questions I had. He explained why the system was not functioning, and made sure I understood what needed to be done. I was very satisfied with all the work that was completed. I will definitely use NextGen HVAC services again and will recommend them to my friends and family!

Great customer service from my tech Jocelene! Talked to me in layman's terms, showed me photos to help me I understand the issues and helped me in every way possible, even working overtime without ever making me feel she needed to leave. I recommend asking for Jocelene as your tech and especially if you are a woman with no knowledge how an HVAC works. Great work ethic, customer service and attention to detail. Curtis is another person I want to acknowledge, he checked up on his worker, gave me a call, asked me if I had questions and made me feel I was seen and heard. Great service also and all this after hours!!! Real troopers and dedicated employees! Thank you for being who you are! The best!

Michael C at NEXGEN is a lifesaver! I ran into trouble patching a tire at a gas station in Gardena on Friday and was struggling with my self-kit. A guy from a nearby tire shop was helping too, but it was tricky, and the patch wouldn’t go in properly. Michael saw us and immediately jumped in to help.
He was incredibly skilled, patient, and persistent—even when the tire was losing air and the hole seemed too big, he carefully combined two patches to make it work. He clearly knows what he’s doing and gave me total confidence that my car would be safe to drive.
On top of that, he was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful—a complete stranger, and yet he stayed to make sure I was all set before I drove off. His professionalism and positive attitude really stand out. Knowing he works in air conditioning repair, which can require power, physical strength, and hours of persistence, it’s clear that his skill and dedication carried over to helping me with my tire. He approached the problem with the same patience, focus, and commitment that he brings to his professional work, which made all the difference.
