I had a frustrating experience with Hometown Plumbing, specifically with a plumber named Steven. I was quoted $425 to fix a toilet, which I accepted. But once Steven arrived, he said that due to a leak, he required an additional $125. When I told him that seemed too high, he offered to do it for $50 extra in cash, which felt sketchy and unprofessional right off the bat. His attitude was rude and dismissive throughout the visit. He walked upstairs on my carpet without using shoe covers, which is basic courtesy in any home service job. And unbelievably, he used my toilet during the job without asking for permission, extremely inappropriate. Steven replaced a few parts and told me the job was done, but the leak was still there. When I pointed it out, he told me I’d need to call another plumber because another part wasn’t included in the estimate — even though the original quote was supposed to cover fixing the toilet. He still charged me the full $425. In the end, after some back and forth, he was able to fix the issue — but it was clear he lacked the knowledge and experience to handle the job confidently or professionally. I won’t be calling Hometown Plumbing again, and I’d recommend others look elsewhere for reliable, skilled service.

So incredibly grateful for the service we received! We heard back quickly from Saul, who was incredibly professional and understanding of our need to have this job (leaky faucet replaced at my mom’s!) taken care of same day! He stayed in communication as to when he would be available, arrived when he said, and then was able to take care of the problem and made my mom feel comfortable and confident in the work done! Thanks Saul! Thanks Hometown!

My RE agent asked for a quote for an inspection /camera scope inspection on a home we are in Escrow for. We reached out to multiple people for quotes and they were the only people that gave us a short block of time (12-2) which was helpful as we are 2.5 hours away. They quoted us $359 for both so we booked them. Upon booking they were aware of the location and all our needs. DAY OF- the plumber called to tell us it would actually be over $700 and they were also going to charge us extra for the drive as well (this was info they had before giving quote) . Arguing back and fourth he said it was their fault for “misquoting” and he’d do it for $650!?!? Still about $300 more than the og quote. My agent questioned the reason for high cost as she’s executed multiple plumbing sewer scopes with other plumbers in our area. His response was driving time (which again he was aware of ) and that if we want a quick job he will miss things. We never asked for a quick job , just the job we were quoted for. In the end, my agent drove 2.5 hours to meet the plumber that ultimately we had to cancel because they tricked us into (not )making another appointment with another plumber and calling right before to tell us they would be charging us double. SUCH a waste of time. Such a bad way of doing business. We didn’t get our inspection done and our contingency ended. Do not recommend unless you want to waste your time

Contacted Hometown Plumbing for some required water heater related plumbing repairs needed per escrow after finding them on Google. They sent out a plumber named Matthew. He arrived later then expected but called and informed me which was appreciated. He was polite and was willing to find the best way to complete the repairs without going over my planned budget. Stayed late and did the needed repairs. The next day we noticed the pilot was not lit and we had no hot water so we had to call Hometown again and they sent another guy over quickly to fix it. Overall a decent experience in regards to the plumbing. While Matthew was there working he took an interest in the yard sale I was having to prepare for our move. He even offered to sale a few things for me stating he did that on the side, which I thought was nice given we were moving and could use the help. When he left for the day I took him up on his offer and he took several items from my house with the promise to sell them and send me some of the money. After several attempts to contact him via phone and text he responded that he had sold some of the items and kept some for himself but never sent me any of the money. Just a heads up for anyone else who runs into this situation with him. I learned my lesson, just another reminder to not trust people at their word.
