I applied to a rental unit at Ricardo Street on May 4 of last year. Lots of people were viewing this property. I applied right away and sent all my documents to a gmail account. It did not feel safe to send so much personal information to a gmail (by the name Sanjaya) but I really needed to find a place to rent so I went ahead and applied. On May 12 I heard back just to tell me they were "sending the application to the owner and would let me know as soon as they heard back". On May 17 they let me know I had been selected almost 15 days later, but I had already found a different place to rent by owners who didn't play the "wait and see" game. Perch Rentals is one of those places collecting application fees, make you wait and hope you rent elsewhere or loose interest just to come back and say "you're approved" and since you're no longer interested they don't have to refund you the application fee.
