We set out to have an ADU built in our backyard and like most of us didn't really know where to start. We met with So Cal at one of the home shows and instantly felt comfortable from their upfront pricing to their honesty. Everything from the planning design process all the way up to the build was such an amazing experience. If there were any issues along the way the team there was upfront and transparent and had a solution. They actually completed our ADU sooner that we were expecting which was a huge bonus. After receiving multiple inconsistent quotes from various contractors, I had David come take a look at what I wanted to do. He was able to give an accurate quote for the baseline project, and then was also able to brainstorm and dream with me as I thought through all the “what-if-I-wanted to do...” I’m a numbers guy with an eye always on the bottom-line, and without pushing or prodding, David provided honest feedback and recommendations that accomplished my vision within my budget. The team on the ground is friendly, positive, and communicates well with the homeowner to keep your house operating while the work is being done. Susana will keep you abreast of the schedule, supply deliveries, and change orders from the office. And David comes around at least once a week to check on things and is always available by phone or text. With other contractors, I felt like I was always having to compromise and cut details to stay within budget. We hired David and his team to completely remodel our house. From our initial meeting, through the demolition, and through the complete rebuilding of the house interior, we felt that everyone working on our house was very professional and did great work. We were able to communicate with them during the entire process so we always knew what was happening with the project. We have been back in our home for a little over a month now, and we love everything that they did including the new flooring, paint, enlarged and fully remodeled bathrooms, and our brand new kitchen, and new closets. So Cal Design also stuccoed the exterior of the house too and it looks great. I highly recommend them.
