A True Transformation - Thank You KC Interior Design! From the moment we connected with Kitchy and her team at KC Interior Design, we knew we were in great hands. Our home, purchased in November 2018 as a charming but dated property, underwent a huge transformation that completely elevated its style and function. Before, the layout felt disconnected and lacked character. After, the space has been thoughtfully reimagined. It’s bright, cohesive, and radiates a warm, California-modern vibe. Kitchy listened deeply to our needs and introduced ideas that we never would have considered. Her expertise in spatial planning was evident when minor structural tweaks opened up light and flow. Every finish, from the hardwood flooring to the light fixtures, was carefully curated. Her passion for quality over quantity and craftsmanship truly shines. The project ran smoothly, on time, and transparently. Kitchy's professionalism and supportive nature made the entire experience enjoyable. When we saw the final result (see attached a couple before and after images), it took our breath away. Friends and family have repeatedly told us it feels like a whole new home — and we couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Kitchy, for not just redesigning a house, but truly transforming it into a home that reflects us. We’re thrilled with the outcome and look forward to partnering with you again on future projects!

Working with KC Interior Design was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! We were overwhelmed by our outdated home and had no idea where to start—but from the moment we met the KC Interior Design team, we knew we were in good hands. What they created for us was beyond a renovation—it was a complete transformation. Our house was dark, dated, and lacked any flow. KC completely reimagined the layout and brought in light, warmth, and functionality we didn’t even know was possible. Every space now feels intentional and tailored to how we actually live—from the way the kitchen opens up and invites conversation to the cozy corners that feel like little sanctuaries. They are true professionals—creative, responsive, and incredibly detailed. From custom cabinetry to finish selections, they handled every element with precision and care. Their design boards made it easy for us to visualize the end result, and they were always two steps ahead, anticipating needs before we even voiced them. The transformation still takes our breath away. Friends and family who walk through our door can’t believe it’s the same house—and honestly, neither can we. KC Interior Design didn’t just renovate our home; they gave us a new way of living in it. We’re so grateful for their talent, dedication, and heart. We can’t wait to work with them again.

I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Kitchy Crouse and her entire design team. My husband and I made the mistake of buying a house sight unseen during covid, and what we arrived to was a horror show (I put up the highly doctored, 5-10 year old "before" pictures that the previous owners used in their listing, but they do not accurately show how gross the place was). Cabinets would fall apart when we opened them. Once white cabinets were yellowed. All door hardware, faucets, and anything metal was corroded. The flooring that had looked like normal white oak in the pictures was whitewashed and in terrible condition. Entire bathrooms that were claimed to be "remodeled" were original 1980s and had been painted white (sinks, tubs, cabinets, tile--I kid you not--and it looked like a toddler had done the work). Doors were rotten and/or termite-infested. It was bad enough that we briefly considered turning around and reselling the place immediately. But we liked the lot and the view so decided to gut the place (while living there--which I can't really recommend lol) and re-do it. Our contractor introduced us to Kitchy, and she was a godsend for our 3.5 year project. She and her team are professional, highly organized, incredibly creative, and listen to what we wanted every step of the way. For each room, we were provided with several design options (all of which were amazing), full renderings, and samples of potential materials. Modifications were made according to our needs in a timely fashion. Once we decided on a direction, full, detailed plans including line drawings were provided to our contractor and architect. Kitchy and her team were on site frequently to make sure the work was being done as designed and to make adjustments as needed. While construction was underway, Kitchy and her team helped us select materials needed (from plumbing fixtures to flooring to light fixtures to paint colors to furniture and decor). Kitchy and her team helped with everything from concept to execution on: - Designs for each space including kitchen, master, master and all other baths, living room, bar, dining room, family room, stairwell, new office addition, closets, fireplaces, exterior. - Materials for each space - Lighting (designs and fixtures) - Electrical - Plumbing (designs and fixtures) - Flooring (wood, tiles for bathrooms) - Doors, windows, you name it--Kitchy's team was involved - Paint colors - Furniture (both custom pieces and helping select non-custom pieces) - Textiles - Staging I'm sure I'm missing a few things they helped with as their efforts were extensive. The other thing that I can commend Kitchy for is that she provides *meticulous* invoices that are detailed enough that I never had to question what our money was being spent on. She is honest and fair. I never once felt like I was being ripped off (unlike with some others who worked on the project/non-design related who seemed to be making up numbers on the fly with no detail behind them). Most of all, Kitchy has an exceptional eye for design. I can't think of a single concept that I disliked--even if I liked some concepts better than others for our house. She and her team have great taste. I also appreciated that she did not solely recommend outrageously priced materials or furnishings. She was very thoughtful about where money could and should be spent. Before and after pictures included.

Kitchy at kc interior design helped me design my dream home upon moving to Encinitas from Los Angeles. We worked together for over a year /&: She was able to turn a completely outdated house into something timeless, majestic, and completely tailored to my family. Kitchy carried out the overall vision that my husband and I had in mind, in an extremely detailed and creative way. She was always available to Talk and was so fun to work with, she became like family to me, my husband and kids. She didn’t over charge, like other designers often do and helped to find the best prices available, while keeping our aesthetic and best interest at heart. She has A lot of experience and knowledge about home design. I would highly recommend kitchy to anyone wanting to Turn a house into a dreamhouse.
