In November 2025, I alerted Tom Thi (also known as Tung Ba Thi, who also represents Alcott Ins) and Joseph Yurong to a material error in my policies: a custom garage door had been added to the coverage for a garage that does not exist. This mistake inflated the insured values of multiple rental properties and caused my premiums to increase. Although I reported the problem, the error was never corrected. In addition to the inaccurate valuation, I faced continuous service failures: communication was poor and difficult, account support was essentially nonexistent, and my concerns were not addressed promptly or professionally. My request on January 20 for a new account manager was ignored, and partner/owner Isaac Menher remained unresponsive despite multiple outreach attempts. Given this experience, I cannot recommend Thi Menher for personal or commercial insurance. I have since moved my business to a competitor—a large, well‑established independent insurance agency with more than 50 years of industry experience—where I now receive reliable, real‑world protection at a more competitive rate. The competing firm, a family‑owned agency, also delivers top‑notch service and actively supports the community through financial contributions and hands‑on volunteer work. Note: California insurance law requires insurers and brokers to act in good faith and accurately represent insured property. Adding non‑existent structures may violate the California Insurance Code and could be deemed an unfair or deceptive practice.

Thi Menher and associates handle all my personal and business insurance and I couldn’t be happier. They are always a phone call away to answer my (many) questions, and I’m always confident they find the best rates for the coverage I need. Finding home insurance in California at the current moment can be a challenging experience. Many carriers are not writing policies at all in the state, which makes the options extremely limited.
