Effective 2024-25, California has a new law which apartments and condos with a balcony require an inspection. It's every 9 years under the SB326 for condos and every 6 years for the SB721 inspection. The South Coast Deck Inspections we used said we needed to repair a few things and suggested we use Malki Constructions. While we had sticker shock at the repair cost, it was for the most part fair. During the repair, there was an additional cost for items they didn't catch in the original quote, but that's quite normal when you're doing repairs. It was a bummer to get charged more but it happens. So the reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the communication. While Malki does this kind of work day in and day out for a living, those who aren't familiar with major repair work are somewhat in the dark. I would have liked an outline of what to expect, yes, a little hand holding if you will. Like what time he's coming, what he needs from my manager, how will my tenants be affected during the construction, and how long this process will take? It was almost pulling teeth to get this information and a bit frustrating. A bit of customer service would have gone a long way, regardless of how busy your company is. Aside from that, they did an excellent job. Of course we passed the re-inspection and I feel the property is safe for our tenants and visitors.

Malki Construction recently repaired and reconstructed a second floor balcony at our business park in Orange County. They were very responsive in submitting their proposal, scheduling the work, and completing the repairs. Their price was competitive and they did a great job communicating with us and with our tenant. We strongly recommend them!
